Stronger schools build a stronger Kern County.

The Kern Board of Education Improvement Coalition (KBOEIC) works to make our schools and communities safer for everyone.

We organize students, parents, families, educators, and community members to advocate for inclusive, evidence-based policies, and to hold decision-makers accountable for the well-being of every child.

We believe education is the backbone of our communities. When students succeed, families are strengthened, educators are supported, and all of Kern County rises together.

Our Commitment

The Kern Board of Education Improvement Coalition is dedicated to creating safe and inclusive environments for students, families, and educators. Through community engagement and advocacy, we work to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed in a supportive educational landscape.

Our Mission

Our mission is to unite Kern community members in advocating for evidence-based educational policies that prioritize inclusivity and equity. We strive to empower every student to thrive by promoting diverse and accepting school environments.

Get Involved

This work takes all of us.Whether you are a parent, a student, an educator, or a neighbor who cares about local schools, there is a place for you in this coalition.

Five values guide our work.

We see a Kern County where families, educators, and students work side by side to build schools rooted in inclusion, acceptance, and equity. A place where care guides every classroom and accountability guides every decision, so every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Inclusive

Every student, regardless of identity or background, deserves to belong.

Evidence-based

Policy should follow research, data, and proven practice, not ideology. We hold decisions to that standard.

Diverse

We celebrate the differences that make our community stronger.

Accepting

Schools and administration should model compassion and respect for all children they serve.

Equitable

Public education stays neutral, fair, and open to everyone, with a clear separation of church and state.

Strong schools are built by communities, not bystanders. There is a way for you to help us lead with care and organize for accountability.
